During a mindful yoga practice, we may develop, overtime, an ability to perceive the subtle. Last week I read the poem "You and Art", by William Stafford in class. There is a part that says "and you discover where music begins before it makes any sound", which reminds me of another poem, which I read in a lovely book, "Mala of the Heart".
Here it is:
In my travels I spent time with a great yogi.
Once he said to me,
"Become so still you hear the blood flowing
through your veins."
One night as I sat in quiet,
I seemed on a verge of entering a world inside so vast
I know it is the source of
all of
us.
